Hello,
My name is Matt and I will be soon starting a QUADRAT DTP studentship at QUB. This in an incredible opportunity for me to not only stop being a barman but also to study something extremely important- mud!
If the prospect of mud doesn’t immediately get you excited the mud I’ll be studying has come all the way from offshore Greenland (so is better travelled than I am) and contains within it information about how an important area of the ice sheet has changed over the last few dozen millennia, with the hope it can tell us about how it might change in the future.
I’m very much looking forwards to re-entering the world of academia after a couple of years out, learning from my lovely supervisory team and getting my hands dirty in the best possible sense!
