A team from Queen’s University Belfast, led by our very own Professor Jennifer McKinley recently published an article entitled ‘Investigating the influence of environmental factors on the incidence of renal disease with compositional data analysis using balances‘ in Applied Computing and Geosciences. The article discusses how Urban Pollution (including brake dust from vehicles) can be linked to Chronic Kidney Disease using Tellus & UKRR data. The Geological Survey of Northern Ireland have partnered with QUB on this research.
