Project: Multi-proxy investigation of the effects of a drying climate on peatlands and human activity
Supervisors: Gill Plunkett, Jo Smith, Graeme Swindles & Jonathan Holland
Undergraduate Education: BSc Geology, University of Southampton
Postgraduate Education: MSc Palaeobiology, University of Bristol
Research: My project focuses on investigating ancient climates and their relationship to peatland environments. It will use sediment cores from peatlands across Northern Ireland and Scotland to collect data on multiple proxies, including pollen, carbon and oxygen isotopes and tephrochronology to reconstruct past changes in peatland vegetation and peat formation.
