This week, Prof. Tavis Potts (Chair in Sustainable Development) was working from Svalbard. Over the week Tavis was running a climate governance workshop for 3rd-year environmental management students at the University Institute of Svalbard (UNIS) and developing research collaborations with the new UNIS Renewable Energy Centre that is exploring decarbonised and decentralized energy systems that can function in cold climates across the Arctic. He reported balmy temperatures of -19C.
