A healthy student-supervisor relationship is essential to the successful completion of your PhD. Your supervisor should be your first point of contact with regards to your research and will provide support and guidance throughout your time as a PhD student. You will also receive administrative support from your school, local Graduate School and from the QUADRAT DTP Partnership Coordinator. Contact details are available here.
For more detailed guidance about your responsibilities as a graduate student and your supervisor’s responsibilities, please visit the below webpages of your home University (the University you are registered at):
University of Aberdeen: The Student-Supervisor Relationship and Statement of Expectations for PGR students and supervisors
Queen’s University Belfast: Supervision
All QUADRAT students will have a lead supervisor at their home institution (the institution at which they are registered). There must also be a secondary supervisor at the partner institution and a third additional supervisor at the home institution in case the lead supervisor is away from campus or unwell for any period of time. This is to ensure that continued support is available to you at all times. As a result, all of our students have access to the resources, facilities and research communities of both institutions.
Projects were designed by the supervisory team across the two sites and will continue to be collaborative throughout.
Our Supervisor Profiles can be found here.
